Head of a young investigators group "CARS microscopy and microfluidic" (m/f).

In the department of Bioanalytics at ISAS Dortmund as a leader of a junior research team you will be responsible for:

  • Building-up and establishment of the research team
  • Development of multi-method based analytical strategies for the measurement of complex metabolites and enzyme activities in small volumes
  • Development of micro-preparative purification processes with integrated in- situ analysis
  • Coordination of the collaboration with project partners
  • Supervision of the individual progress
  • Presenting and publishing data
  • Fundraising is expected

Your profile:

  • PhD in physics, (bio)chemistry or (bio)chemical engineering
  • Excellent knowledge and expertise in CARS and SERS microscopy,
  • Knowledge in mass spectrometry, microfluidics, separation techniques and hyphenation techniques is an asset
  • Basic experience in personnel management, study set-up and design of experiments
  • Scientific creativity and passion for discovery
  • Good ability to communicate and collaborate with scientists from fields such as physics, biochemistry, biology and bioinformatics
  • Good working knowledge of English; German is an asset

Scientist (m/f) for Protein Expression.

In the Systems Analysis group at ISAS Dortmund you will be responsible for:

  • protein expression
  • cell culture
  • sample preparation
  • protein identification by proteomics methods
  • cloning of candidate proteins

Your profile

  • PhD in chemistry or biochemistry
  • experience with protein identification by LC-MS/MS
  • strong background and interest in protein chemistry, analytical (bio-)chemistry and mass spectrometry, experimental research experience
  • experience with protein expression and cloning is a plus
  • willingness to develop novel methods, to demonstrate initiative and responsibility, and to work in an interdisciplinary team
  • Good working knowledge of English, German is an asset.

20/2014: Project leader position in Proteomics (m/f), Dortmund

The Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften - ISAS - e.V. invites applications for a

Project leader position in Proteomics (m/f).

As a project leader in our Systems Analysis group in Dortmund you will be responsible for:

  • Developing strategies to apply quantitative proteomics technologies to organisms with incomplete or unsequenced genomes
  • Coordination of the collaboration with project partners
  • Presenting and publishing project data
  • Further fundraising

Your profile:

  • PhD in biochemistry / chemistry
  • Excellent knowledge in mass spectrometry, method development and protein analysis
  • Good knowledge in automated proteomics data analysis, “de novo” sequencing strategies
  • Basic programming skills
  • Basic experience in personnel management, study setup and experiment design
  • Scientific creativity and passion for discovery
  • Good ability to communicate and collaborate with scientists from fields such as chemistry, biology, physics, statistics and bioinformatics
  • Good working knowledge of English; German is an asset

This position is limited in time until June 30th 2017.

19/2014: PhD position in proteomics (m/f), Dortmund

In a joint research project, the Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften - ISAS - e.V. invites applications for a

PhD position in proteomics (m/f).

As a PhD student (part time 60%) you will work in a highly interdisciplinary research team on the discovery of biomarkers for species classification and for the detection of physiological and developmental stages with quantitative proteomics technologies. You will continuously develop and enhance proteomics-based methods for peptide identification without access to genome data. Presenting and publishing project data is expected.
