Study & Career

Scientists from different fields find ISAS an attractive academic environment for interdisciplinary research. Activities span a broad spectrum, ranging from materials analysis to interfacial spectroscopy and bioanalysis. This research is achieved using a host of spectroscopic equipment and a variety of biology capabilities. Building on several decades of experience ISAS has gained worldwide recognition for the development of new analytical methods and instrumentation.

A major goal is to develop the skills of diploma, Masters and PhD science students actively doing research at ISAS. The individual research groups at ISAS also offer literauture review meetings, internal research presentations as well as invited seminars from internationally recognised experts in their field. In addition to these education opportunities senior scientists from ISAS deliver lectures on a variety of topics at the Technische Universität Dortmund, the Technische Universität Berlin and the Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
