Material and Interface Analytics

 
 

In the Material and Interface Analytics department, we deploy and develop optical spectroscopy methods. These methods are highly useful for analysing processes and materials in fields such as solar, nano, bio or semiconductor technologies.

We are, for instance, able to examine the development of nanostructures in polymer layers for solar cells. We also analyse extremely small amounts of materials, e.g. from historical artworks, to identify the compounds of the colors the artist had once used. And we investigate the often inscrutable processes at the interface between different materials.
